Batu Caves holds fond memories for me ever since I was a young kid. I remember going there with my parents when I was around 6 or 7. I can still recall the awe I felt when entering the cave and seeing all the deities tucked neatly in each corner of the cave. The whole experience moved me. Fast forward to today, I have to confess that I’ve not seen anything as majestic and of a breathtaking beauty as this limestone hill. Come Thaipusam every year, we find ourselves flocking there to fulfill our vows and revel in the air of quiet spiritualism that surrounds it.
